Toy Place GERMAN - Klapp-Kalaha

Kalaha is a traditional tactical game that has its origins in Africa. It is played on a wooden game board with several small and two large hollows and 72 natural stones.

At the beginning of the game, the stones are divided into the 12 small hollows and the opponents take their places on each long side of the board. The large hollows are the Kalahas, in which each player has to collect as many stones as possible.

One of the players begins his turn by collecting all the stones from any hollow on his side and, clockwise, placing one stone in each of the next hollows. In doing so, his own hollows, those of his teammate and his own Kalaha are filled.

If the last stone falls into your own Kalaha, it's your turn again. The small hollows slowly empty and more and more stones migrate into the players' Kalahas. A special case occurs when the last stone lands in its own, empty hollow, as this stone and all stones in the opposing hollow of the opponent are then placed in their own Kalaha. In the end, the player with the most stones in his Kalaha wins.
